Thornhill Lees CE (C) Infant and Nursery School is a large, friendly and growing school. It serves a vibrant multi-ethnic community, approximately half a mile from the centre of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We are an Infant and Nursery school with a Christian foundation and also celebrate the Muslim faith. Christian values are apparent in the school’s daily life and are demonstrated through positive relationships across the entire school community.

The original school building was built in Victorian times but has had several extensions added to it as the school population grew in numbers. We have two large fields at the back of the school which we are developing into exciting learning environments.

Our school is 3 form entry. The age profile of the school is from 2-7 years.  At this setting 16 two year olds can attend for 5 morning sessions a week. We now have both morning and afternoon Two Year Old Provision on the school site.

We are very proud of our school. Thornhill Lees Infant and Nursery School is a caring community with the best interests of the children at the forefront of our thinking and working. Every member of staff and pupil strives for excellence and we pride ourselves on the amazing progress that the children who attend our school make.
