Thank you for visiting our RHE Consultation Page.
From the Summer term 2021, it is compulsory for all primary schools in England to teach RHE. At Thornhill Lees we have been teaching in line with the new government guidelines for some time through our Jigsaw programme of study. As a school we are working to adapt our current policy to include some new content on basic first aid and mental health and well-being.
We are now beginning a consultation period for our school community to help gather views, comments and questions to help create a new policy for our vision of what RHE will look like at Thornhill Lees.
What is a consultation period?
A consultation period is where we gather your views on our programme of study at Thornhill Lees. We will provide you with details of what and how we teach RHE in school, as well as an opportunity to view some of the resources we use. Parents and carers will then be able to offer comments, thoughts or ask questions. All comments and questions will be read and considered by School and where possible included within our new RHE Policy. The policy will then be presented to the Governors for approval. You can view our current PSHE Policy in the policies section of the school website.
The consultation period will be for two weeks. It starts on Monday 1st March until Friday 12th March.
To begin our RHE consultation period at Thornhill Lees, we would like to invite all parents to read through the RHE Parents and Carers PowerPoint and then complete this quick survey.
